About Tulsi

Hi! I am currently an undergraduate student at Yale University studying Digital Age Studies. I created the major myself so that I could better understand the era we live in from a cultural, artistic, and consumerist perspective. I dream of a world with ethical interfaces and technologies and hope to bring my creativity to whatever sector I end up working in. A linguist at heart, I love learning languages and know Hindi, Gujarati, Korean, some Spanish, as well as basic phrases in other languages. Creativity is my fuel, and I enjoy making YouTube videos, writing poetry, editing music, and teaching myself new artistic skills.

My blog name "moonbasil" comes from two symbolic parts of my life. Ever since I was a child, my father would ask me every night if I had seen the moon. As my interest in astrophysics grew, so did my love for the mysterious celestial space rock. You will never see me without my trademark crescent moon necklace. Basil is the English translation of "Tulsi," and because of this, I like to nourish myself like a plant, always growing and giving back.

When I'm not busy, I enjoy having philosophical conversations and making coffee. You can find me reading in the nearest cafe, hiking at the crack of dawn, or telling a poor soul about my synesthesia for the millionth time.
